Lot 30125 – 1912 Deutsches Reich, airmail Gelber Hund 1mk on 10pfg brown red, with inverted blue overprint

1912 Gelber Hund airmail 1M on 10pfg brown red with inverted blue overprint and variety “Gelber Huna”, mint with a very light trace of a removed hinge. An extremely rare overprint variety, probably only 4 stamps per sheet show this variety and thus no more than 4 copies should exist (of which only two are said to be recorded); a major rarity of the German airmail stamps in very attractive condition, certificate M. Brettl 1983 mentions a minor corner bend (which is not visible to us). Michel lists normal invert €7’000 with 100% premium for the “Huna” variety = €14’000.
