1864 (12.8) Letter addressed to the Italian Consul signed at the base by Giacomo Muzzi and written on printed stationery « Administrazione della Posta Europea / EGITTO / Direzione / Direzione Generale », unusual and a scarce historical document.

Note: During this period, negotiations were on-going between Giacomo Muzzi and the Viceroy of Egypt, Ismail Pasha, for the sale of the Posta Europea to the Egyptian Government. The agreement was signed on October 29th 1864 and Giacomo Muzzi became the first Postmaster General of Egypt.
