Aviation: Small lot of four postcards of French and Swiss pioneer aviators and aeronauts: b/w card depicting 14 balloon operators from the Siege of Paris (1870-71); sepia card (c 1910) with the text « PAU Aviation, Nos Aviateurs: M. Legagneux (marked with cross) entre des pilots du Bleriot »; b/w card « Gambetta quitte Paris en ballon »; attractive colour card « Spelterini crossing the Alps in a Gas Balloon » (undated, c 1950). A very fine assembly of audacious pioneer aeronauts and their crafts; comprehensive documentation in photocopy enclosed.
