Lot 10573 – Mexico 50c engraved maritime cover to Paris

Mexico 50c green engraved (consignment #3-1867), cut into at foot, three wide to huge margin at top, on maritime cover to Paris via London dated February 9, 1867, tied by « FRANCO / MEXICO » cds, paying the double rate to Veracruz, with Anglo French accountancy mark « GB 1F 60 » and « 20 » decimes due hs on arrival, cover tear and a little staining at top left which hardly matters for such a scarce attractive cover. Very little Maximilian mail to Europe has survived, let alone with engraved 50c.
