Lot 10553 – Mexico 25c lithographed Mexico Name Only cover to Oaxaca

Mexico 25c orange lithographed « Mexico Name Only », fine to very large margins, on entire letter to Oaxaca dated August 22, 1866, tied by good « FRANCO / MEXICO » cds, very fine and clean cover. 4’000 of the 25c were issued and few covers have survived. NF $100 as a single used.

Note: These stamps without the consignment number, but with the gothic Mexico overprint, were issued in exchange for Eagle stamps at the beginning of the issue.
