Lot 10190 – 1843, 90r black, early impression, « S.JOZE » double-framed hs in purple and Rio cds

1843, 60r black, intermediate impression, large even margins, showing « S.JOZE » double-framed hs (unlisted in Ayres) from the Province of Sao Paulo and struck in purple, combined with « black « Correio Geral Da Corte » cds. One of four first-issue stamps recorded with this postmark, with its desirability being augmented by the usage of two postmarks in the rarely encountered purple colour.
