Lot 30184 – 1874, 6 sen violet brown syll, ni (4) unused mounted

1874, 6 sen violet brown, syllabic 4 (ni), position 36, in an intense shade and very good impression, centred with the perforations clear of the design all around, hinged with original gum. Very fine. Cert. Philatelic Museum Expert Committee (2016).

Only seven examples are believed to exist in unused condition (five in private hands) according to the Yamazaki Yoshiyuki plating book (Narumi 2018), illustrated on p.11. (JSCA ¥4,000,000; Michel €30,000).
