Description
1871, 200 mon vermilion, plate 2, position 8, private perforation 11; showing the « head portion » of non-standard « Kanazawa Kensazumi » cancellation. Private perforations are extremely rare on « Dragon » stamps, any usage other than in Nagasaki is a major rarity. As a curiosity, Dr. Ichida states in his « The Dragon Stamps of Japan 1871-1872 » handbook of 1959 to have only seen three examples of the perforated 200 mon, including one from plate 2.
