Registered entire letter from Areias to Rio de Janeiro, annotated « Segura » to denote registration, showing « Franca » in ms and signature of the postal clerk « Baptista » on reverse, framed « Va. De..Areias » handstamp, with the area affected by ink corrosions and some usual overall toning. Pre-philatelic registered mail is very rare.
