TURNU SEVERIN: 1841 (17.9) Folded cover from Serbia, addressed to the Serbian embassy in Bucharest, bearing on reverse decorative circular Cyrillic, negative disinfection seal in black reading “Turnu Severin Quarantine » and depicting eagle over date of 1838, with date and signature of the Director of the station, John Strimbeanu, plus a perfectly preserved red wax seal of the KLADOVO Customs/Quarantine station, in Serbia (Dragomir type K38 – 8R; see # 3 on page 38), clear fine and an extremely rare strike, a very rare combination of the Turnu Severin negative black seal and the Kladovo (Serbia) red wax quarantine seal
