1841 (Jan 5) 2d Mulready lettersheet sent from Richmond to Ripon (Yorkshire) uprated with 1840 2d blue pair (one stamp cut into on two sides), tied by slightly smudgy strikes of a red MC, reverse with despatch cds, very fine and rare uprated 2d Mulready, the only example we have seen of a 2d Mulready uprated with an 1840 2d blue pair (S.G. £30’000 for a 2d lettersheet uprated with one 1840 2d blue).
