1868 (May 21) Anti-Pope envelope showing Pope Gregory XIII next to a scene of the massacre of 60’000 Huguenots (in Latin) « Huguenots Slaughter 1572 », and with a long caption at left accusing the Papacy of « blood-thirsty, blasphemous and persecuting principles », sent with Ireland from Gorey to a Reverend in Kyle, Enniscorthy, with 1864-79 1d pl.107 PI placed in-between pro-monarchy »QUEEN AND / CONSTITUTION » slogan, arrival bs, missing backflap and damage to sideflap with small cosmetic repair at top left corner, fine appearance and rare especially from Ireland (quite possibly a mischievous joke to the Reverend in Kyle).
