1877 (Mar 11) Entire sent registered to Germany franked with Great Britain 1876-79 2 1/2d rosy mauve pl.3 and 1876 4d vermilion pl.15, paying single rate plus registration fee, cancelled/tied by fine « A25 » numerals, with « MALTA/A » despatch cds applied in RED (in error, and officially deleted by two further ‘crossed’ strikes of « A25 »), replaced by « REGISTERED / MALTA » cds in red at left, both cds being superb strikes, blue sender’s cachet at lower left, and showing German red and black imperforate Bahnpost registration label applied in transit, reverse with Messina and Swiss transits, Wiesloch arrival, a wonderful cover with a rare franking, which would be difficult to equal for eye appeal
