1858 1d Pale rose pl. 44 PF, Alphabet III, on envelope from London to St Albans, neatly cancelled by a good strike of the rare Cresswell rotary stamping apparatus obliteration dated the 8th March 1858 (the earliest known date) from Pearson Hill’s machine cancellation experiments, a very rare usage of which very few are known, cert. RPS (2003)
