1855-58 Post Paid 2d blue, position 7, « PENOE » for « PENCE » variety, good to predominantly large margins, cancelled by mute of concentric circles on cover front to Port Louis, showing octagonal ‘FLACQ/NO.24.1856’ ds, framed ‘TOO LATE’ hs and ‘MAURITIUS/DE4.1856’ crowned circle alongside, slight crease affecting the adhesive and few tone spots to cover, a rare usage of this rural post town, further enhanced by being the only example recorded of the ‘TOO LATE’ hs on cover, as well as an interesting example of the 2d. inland rate usage from rural post towns to Port Louis
