1857-59 Post Paid 1d. red-brown on greyish, position 9, a very fresh and very well margined example, tied to printed matter from Port Louis to Paris, neatly tied by ‘G.P.O./DE6 1859/MAURITIUS’ cds, repeated on reverse but struck one day after, the only usage recorded of this datestamp on cover, further enhanced by the very rare usage of the printed circular rate to a destination overseas, very fine and appealing

Note: The few examples known off cover and the present item with this cds used on the franking, all show the same date of usage, 6.12.1859
