1846 (17.2) Folded entire from Reverend Justin Perkins in Oroomiah (Orumiah) mission addressed to Reverend Thomas Edward Vermilye in New York City, via Boston with red transit ds « BOSTON » and straight line « SHIP » alongside, very fine, attractive and rare missionary letter, cert. Persiphila (2011)
Note: Reverend Justin Perkins wrote that Oroomiah was but 20 days by steamer from London followed by 30 days on horseback with some of the grandest and wildest displays of nature’s magnificence on the face of the earth, amongst them, Mt. Ararat
