1905 Pictorial envelope with infantry motif, the reverse showing stages of training of recruits, sent by volunteer with 33rd EAST SIBERIAN RESERVE BATTALION to Kazan from coastal town of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur 23 6 05. Violet circular regimental free-frank cachets on reverse. Envelope with some peripheral faults. Garrisons were maintained on Russia’s Pacific coast to meet the threat of a Japanese invasion.
