consign stamps collection

How to sell my stamps?

Perhaps this is the year that you have decided to put your philatelic estate in order, to remove a possible burden upon your family in years to come? Perhaps you are very much the active collector now looking to change your area of interest and are contemplating selling an existing collection in order to start afresh with a new one?

Whatever your reason for considering the sale of your philatelic assets, rest assured that with David Feldman, you will benefit from decades of experience in auctioning philatelic properties from all over the World and to an international clientele that is as diverse as the collections we offer. We invite you to look at the advantages to consign with David Feldman.

We are actively working on our upcoming auctions and welcome new consignments such as scarce and rare single items, specialised and exhibition collections or estate collections from all over the world.

So if you’ve chosen David Feldman to sell your stamp collection, the first thing to do is get us to give you a free professional evaluation, particularly if you know little about stamps, as we can give you a quick and rough indication on how to proceed with selling your stamps, including the different options for selling your stamp collection.
In order to give you an accurate valuation of your stamp collection, we will need to see it. You have three options:
  • Sending it to us – Before sending it to us, please contact us or send us a description of your collection as well as a list of the main items you have. Scans are also welcome. In order to have your parcel fully covered by our insurance, fill in a form and email/fax it to us before sending the collection.
  • Bring it to us – please contact us to take an appointment with one of our philatelist.
  • Have a home visit – We have representation in 25 cities on all 5 continents. So for those with bulky collections, there is a good chance we can come to see you.

Upon arrival of your collection in our office, your collection will be stored in a secure safe that we have on site. Then it will be given to the most appropriate specialist who will describe and estimate your collection.

Both parties agree on the selling options as well as on the terms and conditions.
You will receive a listing before auction catalogues are produced with both our lot descriptions and estimates. The lots will be scanned and inserted in the most appropriate catalogue and/or our internet site.

You are then invited to follow the auction and take part in the unique and fascinating experience! You can even follow the whole auction from the comfort of your computer.

Of course, a very important part of the process for you is getting paid. We are very flexible when it comes to the different methods and currencies of payment. Completed payments are sent 42 days after the auction.
