It was organised by the Swiss Federation of Philatelic Societies in cooperation with the Philatelic Society of Lugano. There were over 440 exhibitors from all over the world, the standard of exhibits was very high with some many spectacular collections on display. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The highlight being the Palmares dinner where the medals and awards were presented. Here is a summary of the results:-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>World Stamp Champion<\/span><\/strong><span>: Adriano Bergamini (Switzerland), \u201cPostal relations between Ticino (Switzerland) and foreign countries before the UPU\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Grand Prix International<\/span><\/strong><span>: Simon Martin-Redman (United Kingdom), \u201cSarawak \u2013 The first forty years 1858-1898\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Grand Prix National<\/span><\/strong><span>: Joseph Hackmey (United Kingdom), \u201cClassic Switzerland\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It was particularly pleasing to see <a href=\"https:\/\/museumofphilately.com\/collector\/191\">Simon Martin-Redman<\/a> win the International Grand Prix just a week after his exhibit was presented in the Museum of Philately, which can be viewed by visiting the <a href=\"https:\/\/museumofphilately.com\/collection\/89\">website<\/a>.
