Chalhoub, part 4, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/\">Collection of Egypt<\/a> and of the 275 lots the stand-out results were lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10104\/alexandria-1871-88-registered-linen-lined-envelope\/?soff_session_keywords=10104&amp;soff_session_page=1\">10104 <\/a>an 1871 Registered cover from the French Post Office in Alexandria that featured a spectacular unique franking of 59.20f, and was Ex. Maurice Burrus, sold for EUR 21\u2019960, and lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10210\/dardanelli-1868-folded-cover-from-to-constantinopl\/?soff_session_keywords=10210&amp;soff_session_page=1\">10210 <\/a>\u00a0an 1868 Egypt Post Office in Dardanelli, one of only three recorded, sold for EUR 20\u2019740, both including buyer\u2019s premium. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Another rarity, from the Italian Post Office in Beiruit, an 1875 cover featuring an Italy ESTERO 40c red but also franked with a Great Britain 2d Blue, lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10180\/mixed-frankings-1875-146-mourning-envelope-to-flor\/?soff_session_keywords=10180&amp;soff_session_page=1\">10180 <\/a>sold for EUR 14\u2019640, and lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/?soff_page=1&amp;soff_category=&amp;soff_keywords=10197\">10197 <\/a>\u00a0which reached a hammer of\u00a0 EUR 10\u2019980, which was an Egyptian Post Office Consular Offices in Constantinople. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=\u00a0\u00bb1_2&Prime; _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.9.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb][et_pb_image src=\u00a0\u00bbhttps:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Lot10104_185354_full.png\u00a0\u00bb alt=\u00a0\u00bbenvelope from Alexandria to Paris\u00a0\u00bb title_text=\u00a0\u00bbLot10104_185354_full\u00a0\u00bb url=\u00a0\u00bbhttps:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10104\/alexandria-1871-88-registered-linen-lined-envelope\/?soff_session_keywords=10104&#038;soff_session_page=1&Prime; _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.9.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.9.4&Prime;]<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10104\/alexandria-1871-88-registered-linen-lined-envelope\/?soff_session_keywords=10104&amp;soff_session_page=1\">Lot 10104 :<\/a> <span>1871 (8.8) Registered linen lined envelope from Alexandria to Paris, bearing France 1869 5f. grey horizontal strip of four, vertical strip of three and four singles on flap<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.9.4&Prime;][et_pb_column type=\u00a0\u00bb4_4&Prime; _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.4.4&Prime;][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.9.4&Prime;]<\/p>\n<p><span>And the Russian Post office in Alexandria also produced a standout result in lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10183\/alexandria-1866-april-3-folded-cover-from-to-akexa\/?soff_session_keywords=10183&amp;soff_session_page=1\">10183<\/a>, an 1866 cover from Alexandria to Akexandrette, which from an estimate of EUR 4\u2019000 sold for EUR 9\u2019150 and another cover which came from the same Post Office and exceeded the upper estimate of EUR 1\u2019000 was lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10187\/alexandria-1873-large-part-cover-from-franked-by-1\/?soff_session_keywords=10187&amp;soff_session_page=1\">10187<\/a>, an 1873 cover, Ex. H. Schaefer, selling for a very strong EUR 5\u2019368. A cover that boasted the Provenance of Emile Antonini and Samir Fikry, an 1875 French Post Office registered parcel front sent from Cairo to Pernau, lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10115\/cairo-1875-41-large-registered-parcel-front-from-t\/?soff_session_keywords=10115&amp;soff_session_page=1\">10115<\/a>, sold for EUR 9\u2019760, and the Greek Post Office in Egypt, lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10144\/mixed-frankings-1870-285-folded-cover-from-damiata\/?soff_session_keywords=10144&amp;soff_session_page=1\">10144<\/a>, an 1870 cover from Damiata to Syra, reach EUR 7\u2019800 from an upper estimate of 5\u2019124. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>And one lot which will go down in David Feldman SA auction history, and not just because it was a unique cover, but crucially a first, is lot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidfeldman.com\/dfsa-auctions\/spring-auction-june2021\/egypt-chalhoub-part-4\/10219\/latakia-syria-1871-211-cover-front-from-franked-wi\/?soff_session_keywords=10219&amp;soff_session_page=1\">10219 <\/a>which <strong>sold for a very robust EUR 5\u2019124 off an estimate of 2\u2019800 to 3\u2019200, and although an Egypt Post office cover sent in 1871 from Latakia to Beirut<\/strong>, will always be remembered for being Ricky Verra\u2019s first auction lot as an auctioneer.
