Located at the heart of the Americas it was one of the most important piers for ships to Europe. The growth of St. Croix as an important hub was steady from the late 17th century to the early 20th century as shown by the various decrees in the first part of the offer. Particularly the \u201cTransit Mail\u201d section contains a wide variety of items which are also of great interest to other postal history collectors.
