Description

1845 BASEL DOVE: A magnificent marginal example with sharp embossing and deep bright colours, four wide margins including sheet margin of 7mm at the top, tied by red Basel cds on part cover (front and one back flap) with clear BASEL 15 OCT 1846 cancel on reverse, addressee name slightly improved, an exquisite and very rare item, marginal examples of the Basel Dove are extremely rare on cover, illustrated on page 77 in the « Basler Taube » book by Werner Herold.

Basler Taube, lebhaftblau, mit besonders tiefen Farben und schön ausgeprägtem Relief, breitrandig mit grossem 7mm Bogenrand oben, entwertet Doppelkreisstempel BASEL15 OCT 1846 auf grossem Teil eines Ortsbriefes (Adresse wurde teilweise verschönt), Tauben mit einem breiten Bogenrand sind besonders selten, abgebildet auf Seite 77 in « Baslertaube » Buch, Atteste Diena, Marchand (2018)
