Lot 50544 – 1853 1c vermilion (original printing) unused with fine to very large margins

1853 1c vermilion (original printing) unused, pos.5, with fine to very large margins, fresh vibrant colour, small tear at top right just encroaching the design and small thin, otherwise a very fine example of an extremely scarce unused stamp (we have recorded only 6 examples in very fine or better condition); ex Ackerman, Towne, Bernard, Granger; cert. BPA (1970) (S.G. £7’500).
