Polar: 1903-1905 French Antarctic Expedition, picture postcard depicting Dr. Charcot, “Commandant de de l’Expédition Antarctique Francaise”, and showing expedition cachet “Expedition Antarctique/LE FRANCAIS” in red. Card addressed to Buenos Aires bearing uncancelled Argentina 5c with signed greetings message “Souvenir de l’Expédition du Dr. Charcot, from Robert Paumelle (Paumelle Point on Booth Island in the Wilhelm Archipelago was named by Charcot after Paumelle, mess steward on the “Francis”. A very rare card.
