81 Parale, deep bright blue on blue wove paper, good to large even margins, light print at top, a hardly noticeably, insignificant small sealed tear upper left outside of design, light blue GALATZ 9/9 ? cancel, showpiece, a major Romanian rarity, a wonderful example of a world rarity

Rarity: Just 26 used examples from all post offices are recorded, eleven of which have faults and at lest three are in museum collections. This being earliest date of any 81 Parale from Galatz, where the 1st Moldavian issue was only delivered on September 1st, 1858
