1815-96, Group of 37 covers to the USA (Midwest, South and California) from Scotland, with 17 stampless incl. 1867 cover to Missouri with “US.NOTES” hs depreciated currency latter rate (earliest recorded date according to vendor), pair of 1837/38 entires to Virginia with one showing oval “SHIP LETTER / LEITH” with crown ds, three covers with “OLD RAIN” hs sent to Pennsylvania, ten at 1s rate incl. two with 1847-54 1s embossed, later frankings incl. 1869 covers with “ADVERTISED” and “UNCLAIMED” hs, 1868 cover with “INSUFFICIENTLY PREPAID” hs erased, 1884 envelope with “EDINr & CARSTAIRS SORTING TENDER” duplex (not priced and noted as “seldom seen” according to SG’s Collect British Postmarks), etc, a useful accumulation for a transatlantic collector
