Description
1868-1902, A wonderful quality collection written-up on pages housed in one album, with strength on the issues from 1876 to early 1900s, with hundreds of mint and used stamps, as well as very attractive postal history. Much scholarship is evident here with reference items identified for comparison with the genuine. Highlights include over50 classic lions with 1s violet #1 unused pair through to examples of the 1878 5k in gold and violet shades, followed by the first Nasser-ed-din issues by perf types incl. 1879 5k mint, the suns litho and engraved, 1881/82 shahs to 5frand 10fr each with different perfs mint, comprehensive ‘Officiel’ surcharges incl. inverted 1t on 5fr, as well as an excellent showing of 1880s defins incl. 1889 2c blue imperf mint, 10c black scarce double print mint, 1891 7c mint,2c and 10c together on commercial cover to Trebizonde, etc. Then 1894 set mint along with unusual 16c imperf between stamp and wing-margin on vertically laid paper, 1898 set mint, 1899 control handstamps complete along with rare control type d/4 on 3c, 1899 Mozaffar Shah complete mint, 1900 handstamps complete, etc, etc. A remarkable collection with many elusive stamps, far more than this outline description, please view page for page (100’s)
