Universal Postal Union (UPU) Membership
Persia asked for membership to the UPU on September 1st, 1877. Membership was adopted by the UPU in the Paris Convention on June 1, 1878.
In 1882, a number of presentation panels were prepared for the UPU. These panels were handpainted and gilded. There are apparently only three remaining, each one is different and hence, unique
These panels show thr Barre Essays as the official first stamps of Persia. Three additional issues released by 1882, are also present on the panel.
