1872 Folded letter in Greek, datelined 8/20 April, put on ship to Taganrog, franked 10k vertical paper, cancelled by manuscript IZ PARAKHODA KERCH’ (FROM STEAMSHIP “KERCH”). Fine, fresh and rare.
At this date mail-carrying ships serving the Sea of Azov had not yet been supplied with their own cancellers.
