1909 Picture postcard of Batum harbour scene with 3k tied by Batum cds, transiting Yalta, Crimea, 5 days later with violet negative seal-type cachet applied on ship reading “STEAMSHIP PUSKIN / OF THE RUSSIAN COMPANY FOR STEAMSHIPPING AND TRADE” around Imperial Eagle, fine
The “Pushkin” was built at Newcastle in 1881 and registered at Odessa. It was a mail and passenger carrier of 1’517 tons and evidently served on the Russian Coast Mail Line between Batum and Odessa with ports of call in the Crimea
