Description
1895-1937 International Gold medal collection written up on more than one hundred and sixty (160) album pages A well presented collection including all the issues of Hohen Rinne, Bistre and Magura issues with essays, varieties including imperfs, imperf. between pairs, double impressions, blocks and complete sheets etc., highlights of each issues described below: – 1895-96 (2kr) black on yellow, first and second issues, showing array of eight unused singles, three on fragments one with first day cancels, plus nine (9) covers or cards, four of which have bisect usages – 1901 (July 25) 2h and 4h values, with an array of ten (10) imperf & perf singles, plus 4h black on yellow in imperforate and perforated sheets of twelve (12) showing two sheets of each, plus fourteen (14) covers or cards showing various different values imperf or perf, one of which has a bisect usage – 1903 (July 5) 2h and 4h values, with an array of thirty-five (35) singles, pairs or blocks of the 2h value imperf or perf, plus seventeen (17) covers or cards showing various different values imperf or perf, two of which have bisect usages of the 4h value, plus three (3) values tied on fragments – 1906 Issue with 2h black on red & 5h black on green both in sheets of 100, plus singles, blocks, imperf between pairs, double prints, plus seventeen (17) covers or cards – 1909 Issue with 2h black on red & 5h black on green, mint singles, plus 5h in two blocks of four & complete sheet of 50, plus eight (8) cover and cards, including apparently the unique usage of the 2h imperf. on card, a scarce issue as all remainders were destroyed in a fire at the hotel in 1916 – 1910 (April) Issue with 3(h) brown & 5(h) green mint singles & sheetlets of four, plus twenty-one (21) covers & cards, also five (5) stationery envelopes – 1923 (June 2) Issue with 3(h) blue & 5(h) brown mint singles & sheetlets of four, plus five (5) cards & also two fragments with special cancels – 1924 (June 10) Issue with 50(b) green & 1(leu) red mint singles & imperf blocks, also perforated sheetlets of ten, missing flag variety in blocks, plus twenty-one (21) covers and cards some with rare cancels & also three cancels on stamps or fragments, additional ten covers or cards with some later usages – Magura 1903-12 rare and valuable assembly of unused, plus a wonderful array of seven covers – Bistra 1909 rare and valuable assembly of unused singles, multiples and varieties, plus a wonderful array of twenty-five covers or cards An truely outstanding collection and certainly one of the mostly important of it’s kind existing (100’s of stamps & more than 150 covers or cards, plus additional copies of articles and catalogues to help in the study of these most unusual of issues)
