Description
HANKOW: Piece with seven “KITAI” 10k on VERTICALLY LAID PAPER (in block of five and pair) plus 1k and 3k, tied by Hankow 8.5.09 cds (T&S type 2), a rarity and a magnificent multiple, as only a few sheets of the 10k on vertically laid paper were accidentally overprinted “KITAI”, signed Holcombe and Calves
Provenance: Ex Lipschutz and Mizuhara 漢口:剪片貼俄國客郵10戈比五方聯及雙聯(印於直條紋紙),另貼1及3戈比,銷漢口圓戳(1909.5.8)(T&S 2型),只有少部份10戈比票印於直條紋紙上,故十分罕見,由Holcombe及Calves簽署。
