1841 1d pink envelope, sent from Godalming to Mooltan via Kurachee, neatly cancelled by a blue Godalming cds for Oct. 17. 1849. and a London transit cds with Bombay and Kurachee receivers on reverse for November 1849. Sent via Southampton and endorsed „1/-“ in manuscript. Super quality and a rare destination item.
The addressee Robert Haines was probably working in some official capacity, as the Punjab had only recently been annexed to the British following the 2nd. Sikh war, the army of Mulraj Singh having besieged Mooltan earlier in the year.
