Rarities of the World – 88 – 60071 F Sassone 4a 1859 1gr Carmine, plate II, vert. strip of four with immense margins all around and unframed linear “ASSICURATA” cancels (uncommon use from a town other than Napoli) tied to prisoner’s letter (full transcription enclosed) from San Giuseppe in Caserta (6 DIC. 1860 cds) to Napoli, endorsed “Riservata” and addressed to General Sirtoli. An exceptional franking on a historic letter from a former insurgent, superb. 1859 1gr carminio, seconda tavola, striscia verticale di quattro con margini molto grandi su tutti i lati e con bolli “ASSICURATA” lineari (particolarmente raro come unico annullo di località diversa da Napoli), su lettera del prigionero da S. Giuseppe da Caserta (bollo 6 DIC.1860), girata “Riservata” e diretta a Generale Sirtoli a Napoli.
