Commemoratives 1948, Centenary of the Death of Ibrahim Pasha In 1948 it was decided to issue a commemorative for the death centenary of Ibrahim Pasha.  A presentation card, dated June 9, 1948, with 3 essays, one vertical and two horizontal, was prepared.  The vertical design is a photo- graphic essay of a portrait of Ibrahim Pasha as a statesman with the inscriptions hand-painted in white.  The two horizontal essays are entirely hand-painted.  One shows the city and port of Acre on the Palestinian coast.  The other shows the Naval battle at Acre, where Ibrahim Pasha defeated the Turks.  This last essay was accepted after slight modifications. 10172 A C121 1948, Centenary of the Death of Ibrahim Pasha , handpainted essays, three different stamps sized perforated designs all mounted on a special presentation card showing inscription in Arabic (182 x 258 mm), an attractive & unique showpiece (Nile Post E527) Provenance: Vahan Andonian 4’000
