Belgium collection formed by Anatoly Karpov

David Feldman is honored to announce that we have been given the mandate to sell at auction the collection of Belgium formed by Anatoly Karpov the world famous chess Grandmaster. His vast collections will be offered in a series of auctions the first being December 6-11, 2011.

This vast collection beautifully mounted on thousands of neatly prepared album pages spans all spectrums of Belgium & Belgian Congo philately & postal history, from early pre-philatelic mail in 1742 to modern proofs, essays and varieties up through 1980.

However like most great collections the principle focus is in the classic issues and in particular “Les Epaulettes” and “Les Médaillons”. In these two issues alone the collection contain many of the rarities from the stunning “Epreuves achevées de Robinson”, “Epreuve du coin”, “Essais de M.Delpierre”, plus extensive unused & used showing shade, multiples & array of usages on covers including some stunning multiple and mixed issue frankings etc.
